Stace works from a foundation of compassion with the intent to give you a safe place to explore yourself that is free from judgment, oppression, and harmful messages. We have all been hurt in some way and both past and present hurts may have hindered our potential and tendency towards growth.  This can be compromised by the problems we face, including oppression, trauma, growing up in an invalidating environment, and emotional pain from early childhood experiences and adulthood. Stace believes there is nothing wrong with you but there’s quite a lot wrong with what you were taught to believe about yourself. We will work together to dismantle these core beliefs and build a life worth living that aligns with what’s important and meaningful to you in your life. They believe that each person is already uniquely equipped with the resources necessary to heal and grow.

Their approach is humanistic, emphasizing the importance of the relationship between client and therapist.  They view therapy as a collaborative process and as a relationship between equals. We will explore the effects of oppression and how racism, sexism, homophobia, bi/panphobia, transphobia, xenophobia, anti-semitism, ageism, ableism, etc affect each individual’s mental health and identity.  We will look at several aspects of your life that may be affecting the issues you may be bringing into therapy, such as the relationship between gender, social, and cultural influences, and systemic oppression, to understand your own unique experiences.  Developing a deeper understanding of each individual’s life is an honor and we will work together to find what treatment approach best fits your needs.
